New CEO at fashion logistics specialist
Osnabrück, 7 March 2016. Osnabrück-based fashion logistics specialist Meyer & Meyer appointed Mr Jan Weber as Managing Director of Meyer & Meyer Holding GmbH & Co. KG in February 2016. Effective 1 April 2016, Jan Weber will become CEO and therefore person in charge for operations at the company. At part of the leadership change, both former managing partners Michael Meyer and Rolf Meyer, as well as Holding Managing Director Dr Clemens Haskamp, will move to a newly formed advisory committee.
The new company structure represents a generational change that was required to accommodate Meyer & Meyer’s growth and increasing internationalisation. “Our family business needs strong leadership from a single source,” explains Michael Meyer. “We strongly believe that Jan Weber is the right person to guide Meyer & Meyer through the next phase of our development and ensure the company is well equipped to handle future challenges.” Jan Weber was previously COO at a Finnish primary producer.
Newly formed advisory committee
Managing partners Michael Meyer and Rolf Meyer will move to the company’s newly formed advisory committee as of 1 April 2016. The cousins initiated the merger of their parents’ two companies in 1990, which resulted in the Meyer & Meyer group of companies that exists today. The committee will also include Dr Clemens Haskamp, who has served as the company’s managing and commercial director for the past 25 years. Two external members will also be brought on board. Dr Klaus Eierhoff has many years’ experience in various executive management roles, including on the boards at Bertelsmann and Karstadt. Dr Eierhoff also brings a wealth of experience from his roles on numerous supervisory boards. The second external member will be Dieter Urbanke, who is currently CEO of Hermes Fulfilment GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Otto Group. Prior to becoming CEO, he held various other management positions within the Otto Group.
Getting to know the new CEO
Jan Weber introduced himself to Meyer & Meyer employees on a roadshow of the group’s main sites and was officially welcomed by the company partners. “I see enormous potential for growth at Meyer & Meyer, and a long tradition of industry expertise. I will do everything in my power to ensure the company’s continued development,” says Weber.
