Further step in the growth strategy
Osnabrück, 19/10/2018. The Osnabrück-based fashion logistics specialist Meyer & Meyer and Wilsumer WKS Textilveredlungs-GmbH as an international system provider for quality assurance of fashion and lifestyle products are growing even closer together. With effect from 1 October 2018, WKS, which had previously acted on the market as an associated company of Meyer & Meyer, became a wholly-owned Meyer & Meyer subsidiary. Meyer & Meyer CEO Jan Weber and the former WKS shareholder and managing director Dr. Wilfried Holtgrave have concluded an agreement to this effect. Both companies want to use the takeover to leverage synergies in their joint service and product portfolio and thus generate further growth.
"With its high level of textile competence and depth of service, WKS has been an important partner in Meyer & Meyer's service portfolio for many years. The acquisition of the missing shares is an important step towards further developing our textile supply chain in the area of production services and implementing our strategic goal of being a true fashion partner for our customers," says Jan Weber. Meyer & Meyer will continue to pursue the successful strategy of WKS and the WKS brand will also remain part of the Meyer & Meyer Group. Dr. Wilfried Holtgrave, who will continue to develop WKS's services in the future with his many years of know-how, will remain on board as Managing Director. "After many years of working together, we see Meyer & Meyer as the ideal partner in order to enable us to learn from each other and continue to grow. This includes the fact that our company headquarters in Wilsum with its large regional textile competence will continue to exist and that we will continue to expand WKS's depth of value creation with its special competences, e.g. in the field of denim finishing," reports Dr. Wilfried Holtgrave. Growth is also planned for the foreign locations. "With the large number of important foreign branches and joint ventures, the further merger with WKS is also part of our internationalisation strategy and we will invest in the expansion of WKS locations in the future," says Jan Weber.
