WKS Italia and MoviModa set up joint venture
The Italian subsidiary of Wilsumer WKS Textilverdlungs-GmbH as an international system provider for quality assurance of fashion and lifestyle products, sells 51 % of its shares to the Italian textile logistics specialist MoviModa. The aim of the cooperation is to jointly scale the business and thus continue to grow.
The joint activities were bundled with effect from 1st January 2019 in a joint venture called "MOVITeX - a Joint Venture of MoviModa and WKS". In future, MOVITeX will offer its customers a broad service portfolio that includes not only the inspection of outer fabrics and various textile tests, but also a wide range of services relating to prefabricated finished parts, such as quality controls, processing and storage. In addition to WKS Managing Director Dr. Wilfried Holtgrave, the Supervisory Board of the new joint venture also includes Jan Weber, CEO of the Osnabrück-based fashion logistics company Meyer & Meyer, to which WKS belongs. Dr. Wilfried Holtgrave will also accompany the operative business. "The MoviModa Group offers a similar range of services as Meyer & Meyer and, like WKS in Italy, operates a merchandise show. This makes the company, which is also active in France, the USA and Asia, an ideal partner for further growth," says Meyer & Meyer CEO Jan Weber. Together with the also Italian company C.Q.T. Qualitex, which specialises in textile quality control, the new joint venture will become part of a new partnership platform that networks all the locations of the platform members and can thus offer textile services to customers around the globe. The new platform, called "ORBITA" is to be set during the first quarter of 2019. "The participation by MoviModa is an important step for the further internationalisation of WKS and Meyer & Meyer and I am looking forward to our cooperation", says Jan Weber.
