How did you get your professional training position at Meyer & Meyer?
I was actually looking for an apprenticeship as an IT specialist for systems integration, but since this position had already been filled at another company, the trainer there drew my attention to the apprenticeship as a digitalization management clerk (at that time still known as an IT clerk). After I had informed myself, my interest was aroused because the profession is a mixture of commercial and technical areas. In addition, I then searched for apprenticeships as a commercial clerk for digitization management and found what I was looking for at Meyer & Meyer. Since I had a good feeling after the interview, I decided to start my training at Meyer & Meyer.
What did you expect from your professional training at Meyer & Meyer and were your expectations met?
Initially, I expected to be slowly introduced to the systems used and possibly be allowed to accompany one or the other project. Since I spent the beginning of the training in IT support, I was able to gain insights into the systems used. I was also allowed to accompany and actively participate in a relatively large project. Now I'm in my second department, where we have significantly more projects with new or existing customers. My expectations have been fulfilled 100%.
Which tasks did you particularly enjoy during the first months of your training? Were there any tasks that you didn't like so much?
I particularly like the projects. After the project, you can see what you've actually accomplished and what you helped organize and implement. Partly, the support of the employees with hardware/software problems was challenging. But it was a good feeling when I successfully solved the task.
How were you integrated into the company as a trainee? Did you feel sufficiently looked after?
As a trainee, I was treated like a fully-fledged employee. Of course, there are sometimes typical "trainee tasks", but I think that's part of it. Every employee always has an open ear if you have problems or requests. These are then dealt with within the department. If they can't be solved internally, other departments are also involved so that the trainee is always happy.
What tips do you have in store for anyone who is also interested in a professional training at Meyer & Meyer?
Simply apply and stay relaxed during the interview. Most of the time, you find a common wavelength on which you communicate later. The interviews are very warm and inviting. You're not riddled with questions and you also get the first impression of the "family". You should already have some basic knowledge of what you want to do. If you are very interested in the profession, but don't have that much basic knowledge, that's no problem either. Then we will be happy to teach you everything from scratch!
